Final Reflections

Before beginning this blog, I hadn't known much about drugs. I saw them as an activity that other people, not me, would participate in either when bored or at a party.

For this blog, I tried to learn all the aspects of drugs: what they actually were composed of, what their effects are, what people's motives were for taking them, and their influence on pop culture.

I was interested by drugs because a lot of people that I know have done them, and since I haven't done any, I wanted to see what I was missing. However, since consuming most drugs is illegal for minors, I couldn't ask the people that had consumed drugs too many questions in order to keep them anonymous.

At the beginning of this project, I personally didn't see drugs as a problem. Even though I hadn't done any prior, I didn't see them as a serious threat to anyone.

My opinion on drug usage has changed. I believe that even though they may temporarily make a person feel some bliss, this "bliss" can have some serious consequences that can ruin a person's life. (Read my post on drug addiction here.)

I feel that more information about drugs should be circulated amongst the population so that people know what exactly what position that they're putting themselves if they begin to ponder whether or not to use a drug for recreational purposes.
